A Sacred Calling

After years of working in administration and management, I pursued an innate calling to train to become a counsellor. After years of full time work and part-time study while raising a family of four including a newborn over that time it was a privilege to graduate with a Counselling degree.

On Graduation day, Paul presented me with the most beautiful, symbolic gift of a cross that he had been working away on in secret. It was beautifully set with uneven, different sized stones with varying in quality, cut and clarity. He said that the intention was to capture the nature of my mahi - not one client would be the same and would come from varied backgrounds with varied experiences and yet - every one of them would be equally precious.

Over the years we've grown in our understanding and practice of faith. Our faith today looks more inclusive than exclusive. And over this time what's remained at the heart of what we believe is the value of people and their inherent goodness no matter what faith tradition they belong to.

There is deep symbolism to every piece that is born at Paul's bench. Craft without meaning is almost always consumer driven. We value, slow and intentional and we offer this as a gift to each of our clients.
