Learning to set a stone properly takes more than technique — it takes patience, precision, and someone willing to pass on decades of hard-won skill. Paul's gem setting workshops are small and hands-on, run in the same studio where every Stasita piece is made, with the same care put into each session as into any commission. You won't just learn the steps here — you'll build the confidence and precision to work with valuable materials as a skilled setter in your own right.

What's Taught

Courses build from the ground up. Beginners start with the fundamentals — tool preparation and core technique — while more experienced students move into bezel, claw, pavé, and grain settings, and the finer points of mounting stones securely. Along the way you'll learn tool preparation, metal manipulation, and the practical physics behind a setting that holds — safely, and in a way that lets the stone catch the light.

Who It Suits

Whether you're after a creative outlet as a beginner, or you're a working jeweller wanting to offer setting services in-house, sessions are tailored to your skill level. We keep classes small, so every student gets guidance suited to where they're actually at.
